Getting started

How do I start writing?

Choose Write in the toolbar. Edit the introductory page or select its text and replace it with your own. Choose Read to see the formatted page.

Where does my writing go?

Your page saves automatically in elle’s local app storage. It returns when you reopen the app. There is no folder to choose and no online account to create.

How can I take my writing elsewhere?

Choose Copy Markdown to put the source text on your clipboard, then paste it into the app or document of your choice. Keep a copy before replacing a page you want to retain.

Can I undo a change?

Use Edit → Undo or Command-Z while writing. Undo history belongs to the current editing session. Before replacing a whole page, copy any writing you want to keep.

Does elle sync across devices?

The current version stores one page locally on your Mac. It does not provide cloud sync or an online account.

Is elle available yet?

elle’s first Mac App Store release is in preparation. This website will link to the app when it is available. The first release will be free.
